According to Accuweigh, the Truck Access Platforms, which were fitted onto the new weighbridge at SEQ Hauliers’ Hemmant depot in Brisbane, provide a safe means for workers to dismount from their trucks without being required to step onto the weighbridge’s I-Beams.
The company says there have been many instances where drivers have suffered substantial injuries when using weighbridge I-Beams for vehicle access.
Due to the slope of the ground where this weighbridge is positioned, Accuweigh has used an open pit foundation. The Truck Access Platforms are also fitted with guard rails to form protective barriers and steps down into the weighbridge pit. This provides safe access for maintenance and cleaning staff.
