Scale Components installs Pallet Cubing Systems for transport group

Scale Components says it is currently installing four SC1200 Pallet Cubing Systems for a solutions provider in the freight/transport industry.

Two of the Pallet Cubing Systems are being installed into a Brisbane warehouse, with single units each going to Sydney and Melbourne.

According to Scale Components, its SC1200 Pallet Cubing Systems consist of an integrated platform scale which generates the weight readings. A hand-held bar code scanner is then used to attain identification data using the company’s BarCollate Software.

The system uses a set of SICK measurement sensors mounted overhead that then transverse the length of the cubing portal to capture a dimensional image of the palletised item. The dimensional, weight and barcode details are then relayed to a PC for import into the user’s data management system.

Scale Components claims its Pallet Cubing System increases freight throughput by automatically attaining fast and accurate weight and dimensional data of loaded pallets with minimal operator input.
