Truck speeds to be remotely monitored

Registration and fuel costs for trucks are increasing from 1 July 2012.

With recent high-profile events highlighting the vulnerability of traditional speed limiter technology, it is timely for the industry to take a fresh look at the way heavy vehicle speeding can be monitored.

Ctrack managing director Max Verberne said the missing link is any remote way to detect speed limiters that are faulty or not functioning optimally.
