TCA CEO announces retirement

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) Chief Executive Officer Chris Koniditsiotis will retire from the position it has been announced.
He will stay on in the role until 1 March, 2019 according to a media release issued by the TCA earlier today.
Koniditsiotis has held the CEO position since 2005, the year TCA was established.
Stephen Golding, TCA Chairperson praised Koniditsiotis for his work and leadership.
“On behalf of the Board of TCA and all past directors I congratulate Chris on an outstanding leadership role in bringing TCA to its present state and thank him for his efforts,” he said.
“I wish Chris all the best for the future,” said Golding.
According to Koniditsiotis the opportunity to lead a national government organisation and help shape the digital transformation of surface transport had been a privilege.
“It is now my time to pass on the baton in the way the baton was originally passed to me,” he said.
“I am honoured to have worked with decent, competent and content-rich people who have demonstrated strong values-based behaviours.”
“I’ve also had the privilege to meet and work with some great people across government, industry and technology sector, whose passion and love for their work has been contagious.”
Koniditsiotis said he was proud of how TCA had delivered improved productivity and safety outcomes by harnessing the digital economy with a contemporary open market approach with the highest levels of data privacy.
“As I move towards the next chapter of my life, I reflect with pride on what has been achieved, and collectively, how a diverse range of individuals have contributed to these achievements,” he said.
“I wish to thank the TCA’s Chairperson, Stephen Golding and the TCA Board for all their support over the years,” said Koniditsiotis
“I will be leaving TCA with strong foundations, and in a position of strength to move forward into the future.”
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has thanked Koniditsiotis for his service and efforts in delivering heavy vehicle telematics and intelligent technologies.
NHVR CEO, Sal Petroccitto, said Koniditsiotis had made a significant contribution to the heavy vehicle industry since he led the establishment of TCA in 2005.
“Chris has played a crucial role in the emergence of intelligent transport technologies for more than a decade, particularly in building the knowledge and scope of telematics use across the heavy vehicle fleet,” said Petroccitto. “I thank him for his efforts to engage with myself and the staff of the NHVR on a wide range of initiatives and I wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
