DoorDash launches in Sydney

DoorDash , a US on-demand food platform for door-to-door delivery, has announced its arrival in Sydney, marking the company’s largest launch to date.

The food platform launched in Melbourne in early September and has been welcomed by locals with continued high delivery demand in the outer suburbs.

Following its success in Melbourne, DoorDash has accelerated its Sydney launch date, eager to bring its large restaurant selection to Sydney residents living in both the inner city and outer suburbs.

At the time of launch, DoorDash will serve twice as many Sydney residents as Melbourne locals. Across both cities, DoorDash now reaches over 40 percent of Australians nationwide.

“When exploring expansion outside North America, Sydney distinguished itself as a city where we would be thrilled to add value given its incredible dining scene across a vast and diverse landscape. We’ve been delighted by the engagement from restaurants, and subsequently made the decision to accelerate our launch of DoorDash in Sydney to meet the demand, which we are hugely excited about,” DoorDash’s Australian General Manager, Thomas
Stephens, said.
