Logistics and transport to benefit from latest skills funding round in Tasmania

The Tasmanian Government’s latest round for its Skills Fund has been allocated with transport, logistics, dairy, mining, fruit growing, construction and manufacturing the big winners it has announced.

“The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to ensuring Tasmania has the skilled workforce it needs to support our growing economy now and into the future,” it said in a statement.

“A key part of this plan is the Skills Fund, which supports businesses and community organisations upskill their workforces by improving quality and productivity.”

Up to 1600 existing workers will have the opportunity to improve their skills and advance their job prospects.

According to the Tasmania Government 13 organisations will share in $2 million.

Meanwhile, Treasurer Peter Gutwein is set to replace Will Hodgman as the State Premier following the withdrawal of Michael Ferguson from leadership contention this week.
