Sybase, a leading enterprise infrastructure and mobile software company, has announced that Peacock Bros. has joined the Sybase® Business Solutions Alliance (BSA) to market Sybase RFID Anywhere™ as part of their data capture solution for the transport & logistics, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Peacock Bros. Pty. Ltd has been at the forefront of RFID since the technology’s commercial inception 12 years ago.
With offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland, the company today has more than 12,000 customers.
Each of these rely on Peacocks’ expertise in installing and supporting world-leading barcode data capture equipment and software, label printing systems, as well as quality labels, tags and thermal ribbons.
Peacock Bros. selected Sybase RFID Anywhere as the core RFID application of its wireless LANs and batch or real-time wide-area-mobility solutions.
The suite supports multi-vendor mobile devices, integrates easily with ERP systems through SOA and standards-based implementation and allows enterprises to manage their mobile devices centrally with a web-based architecture.
“After evaluating several solutions, we found RFID Anywhere provided us with the out of-the-box functionality and flexibility to extend the data capture solution beyond its current use,” says Neil Crump, Managing Director of Peacock Bros.
“The Sybase solution has advanced capabilities such as flexible development of custom business modules, XML reporting and location mapping as well as asset tracking from a range of technologies and collection points.”
“Sybase is pleased to be partnering with Peacock with our RFID Anywhere suite,” says Steve Dolan, Director Channels & Alliances, Sybase Australia & New Zealand.
“Today transport & logistics, manufacturing and healthcare enterprises are looking at improving their supply chain management and the efficiency of inventory tracking and management with high-performance RFID,” he says.
“Peacock will help customers deploy data capture solutions of unmatched intelligence and automation thanks to event-driven architecture and multi-device support.”
