Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) solutions provider Quintiq, has announced the opening of a new Australia and New Zealand subsidiary.
Responsible for all sales, marketing and implementations in Australia and New Zealand, the new office, located in Melbourne, opened for business on December 1, 2007.
“The Australia and New Zealand market holds great potential for growth in virtually all areas of APS and hence for Quintiq,” says Chris Macquet, Business Director at Quintiq Australia and New Zealand.
“In addition to all the common issues facing companies everywhere, this market must also overcome the challenges created by its relative isolation, great geographic distances between population centers, and stringent environmental requirements.”
Quintiq also announced the appointment of two Business Directors to head the office, creating a strong management team that combines extensive Quintiq expertise with a successful track record in the Australasian APS market.
Rob van Egmond, an experienced Quintiq manager, will be in charge of project delivery and project management for Quintiq’s customers in Australia and New Zealand.
Chris Macquet, who has extensive experience in the local APS market, will manage all sales and marketing activities in the region.
Since joining Quintiq in 2004, Rob van Egmond has served as Manager ICT Services, and has held several customer-facing and management positions, including, most recently, as Business Director Workforce Optimization.
Earlier he served as a Senior Consultant with responsibility for premium services, and other areas.
“Quintiq’s experience in helping companies optimize their operations in a wide range of industries and market environments is ideal for the variety of industries in Australia and New Zealand,” van Egmond says.
“I am looking forward to working with our new customers in the region to ensure smooth and successful implementations of Quintiq solutions.”
Chris Macquet joins Quintiq specifically to drive sales for the Australia-New Zealand subsidiary, bringing a proven track record in APS and supply chain planning consulting and sales.
Prior to joining Quintiq, Macquet headed APS Technologies, providing consulting, training and education, and solutions to Tier 1 companies across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
He has worked for Unilever, Hewlett Packard, SAP, Numetrix, Deloitte Consulting, Aspentech and Kiwiplan in implementing supply chain solutions.
Macquet says bringing together a primed market with a technology leader creates an enormously exciting sales environment.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity to leverage my local contacts and APS knowledge to help bring the advantages of the Quintiq solution to manufacturing, mining and logistics companies in this region,” he says.
