The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has Partnered with SupplyChainJobz, to directly link potential employees and employers in the T&L industry on a site specifically designed for our industry.
This site will ensure the right people with the right skills can be delivered to the right place at the right time.
The area of ‘People’ is a key action area within the updated ALC National Strategy for the Freight Industry.
In particular the National Strategy for People has set the following crucial industry goals:
- Develop a strategic approach to identifying current and projected skill shortages
and
- Identify, attract, develop and retain people to the T&L industry.
The new T&L careers site complements other ‘people’ based activities the ALC has been implementing such as promoting the new T&L industry brand, new T&L DVDs, supporting national and regional career attraction events and the recent launch of the virtual T&L careers website.
The ALC career site will assist in promoting ‘T&L’ as an attractive industry with great career paths.
Key benefits of the ALC careers site will include the ability to have daily job vacancies, resume database search functionality, resume alerts and the ability to access niche positions including permanent, part-time and consulting roles.
According to Phillip Parsons, Chairman SupplyChainJobz, the ALC careers site will enable the T&L industry to go to one portal to access all available jobs in the industry.
Senior executives through to entry level positions will be available, across all supply chain business areas including transport modes, operations, sales, commercial, finance & IT and human resources.
“The ALC careers site will bring job seekers, recruiters and employers together and will help minimise the skills shortage issues within our industry,” Parsons says.
