3PL inventory management flexibility

Supply chain optimisation company RedPrairie has improved its E²e supply chain solution suite to provide third party logistics providers (3PLs) with inventory management flexibility.

The updated package includes client inventory management functionality to suit the requirements of multi-client warehouses.

The company’s vice president product strategy Tom Kozenski said: “3PLs face all of the distribution complexities of a normal warehouse multiplied by the number of clients each facility services. In addition, they have to manage the inventory ownership and billing characteristics unique to multi-tenancy operations.”

The enhanced capabilities also include customisability in setting over-receipt tolerances and transferring ownership of inventory.

The new system allows suppliers to control tolerances, while general default tolerances can also be set. It displays the records and tracks ownership on RF equipment, screens and reports, with the function to create transfer logs and associated billing transactions also available.

RedPrairie’s new version of the supply chain suite is available in general release.
