Mentoring for women in transport and logistics

Become part of the largest, most effective mentoring program for women in transport and logistics.

Since 2007, the Women Moving Forward (WMF) mentoring program has become the largest, most effective mentoring program for women in transport and logistics (T&L) Over 260 women representing over 90 companies have completed a WMF program. WMF is a high value, low cost, self-paced mentoring program targeting the retention and development of women within the T&L industry. The program is administered by the Australian Logistics Council (ALC) and utilises Emberin’s My Mentor program, the only one of its kind globally.

WMF is open to all women in T&L, in any role, in any region across Australia, in any T&L company.

WMF is run as a 10-week self-paced mentoring program. As part of WMF, all women receive a My Mentor kit (which they get to keep) that contains 10 CDs, 2 DVDs and a workbook encapsulating the 10 modules being studied. Women can download modules to MP3 players plus utilise a free support website at https://mentoring.austlogistics.com.au. Women complete one module, self-paced, per week, coming together for weekly one-hour teleconferences, emails and networking, to discuss and support progress.

Throughout the program face to face networking opportunities are made available and contact with local T&L organisations is established. Leading men and women in T&L address the women either directly or through DVDs and teleconferences with their stories and experiences. The group mentoring approach enables women from throughout the broader T&L industry to share experiences and grow their skills together instead of directly matching women to individual mentors.
