Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs) has won the inaugural Award for Excellence in Event, Humanitarian or Military Logistics at the Smart Awards announced this year.
A new addition to the Smart Awards announced at this year’s Smart Conference, the new award presented by the Smart Awards Chair, Allan Murray supplemented the categories for excellence in manufacturing, supply chain management, transport and logistics, and procurement.
Jacobs secured the award for its work in recovering Western Digital manufacturing facilities and equipment inundated in the 2011 Thailand flooding.
According to Murray, there were strong nominations across the categories, reflecting the strength of the Australian supply chain and logistics industry.
The Smart Awards are designed to recognise professionals in all cross sections of the supply chain industry; the 2013 Supply Chain Awards attracted strong nominations from businesses and individuals across the board.
Sponsored by Dexion, the Smart Awards are a major awards program for the supply chain and logistics sector, and judged by leading industry associations.
