Toyota Materials Handling opens new forklift branch in Tasmania

Toyota Material Handling Australia has opened a new branch in Launceston to serve its customers in Tasmania. The new branch is located in Connector Park, Kings Meadows

Having established a direct presence in Tasmania, TMHA aims to increase its customer support capability and confirm its commitment to local customers. TMHA estimates at least 3000 Toyota forklifts are in operation in Tasmania.

The new TMHA Tasmania branch in Launceston offers the full Toyota Material Handling range of BT lift trucks and Raymond forklift products, as well as Toyota's comprehensive Huski skid steer loaders. Toyota forklifts were previously sold and serviced in Tasmania by an independent dealer.

The new branch sales manager, Rob Cornwell said Tasmania now has a dedicated Toyota Material Handling team to provide pallet handling solutions, with direct manufacturer support. Offering both sales and service, the new branch has service vans based in Hobart and Devonport in addition to an area sales manager Rod Jones, who is also based in Hobart.

TMHA's general manager, branch operations, Cameron Paxton believes establishing a direct TMHA presence in Tasmania would have many benefits for customers including dedicated field support as well as a fully equipped service facility capable of handling all jobs. Tasmanian forklift and skid steer loader customers will now have access to factory-backed technicians as well as Toyota's national network of factory-owned branches and resources.

He explains the move to factory-owned branches is consistent with TMHA’s strategy to deal directly with customers, offering service as well as better access to their national stock of equipment, parts and short-term rental units.

Customers will also be able to engage directly with representatives from the factory, creating a better value proposition.
