Kal Tire acquires Klinge tyre services

Kal Tire has acquired Kinge & Co, a tyre service, training, software and consulting company.
The acquisition is part of Kal Tire’s wider strategy to position itself on Australia’s east coast in addition to its foothold on the west coast, following its opening of a new mining tyre repair facility in Muswellbrook earlier this year.
Klinge is a privately owned Australian company established in 1971.
“Even though our reputation is strong and recognised in many countries, it has been a challenge convincing customers of our credibility inside of Australia as our experience there has been limited,” Kal Tire Mining Group’s senior vice president Dan Allan said.
“With Klinge, Kal Tire aligns with a well-respected, trusted company known to the Australian mining industry and secures our presence as a national tyre service provider.”
According to Kal Tire, Klinge will be operated as a software company going foward, focusing on tyre management systems, training, and tools.
“They have a proven tyre management tool called ‘TotalTyreControl’, which has become an industry standard for tyre management software,” Kal Tyre added.
“Klinge will continue to develop its software business in Australia and provide software training in other parts of the world.”
