IFS recognised across three categories

Interactive Freight Systems, has taken out three major awards at the 2016 Australian Business Awards in the Technical Innovation, Product Excellence and New Product Innovation categories.
The wins continue a spate of Australian Business Award wins that IFS SmartFreight® has picked up since 2011.
Ms. Tara Johnston, Australian Business Awards Program Director commented, “For over a decade, The Australian Business Awards have recognised organisations that provide their clients with solutions to modern challenges by prioritising innovative practices that continually push the boundaries of what is possible.”
The Australian Business Awards is a highly regarded national awards program recognising organisations across all industries using an established set of business and product categories. The awards assess the core values of business excellence, product excellence, sustainability and responsibility.
Mr. Kerry Holmes, Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand, IFS SmartFreight® acknowledged the honour saying, “These wins are immensely rewarding for the team. We are in our 18th year of operation and have grown the business by mindfully and consistently innovating, while our commitment to service excellence is, we believe, next to none in the industry.”
ABA entries are assessed utilising a robust and dynamic framework to ensure that the assessment process is pertinent and objective. The World Business Awards Framework (WBA Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.
“The ABA100 Winners have demonstrated a commitment to developing forward-looking solutions to challenges. This adaptability has cemented their position as major influencers in their respective industries,” Johnston added.
IFS SmartFreight’s newly developed product, SmartFreight Tracker4Transport (T4T) was awarded the Australian Business Award for New Product Innovation. The category recognises new products and services providing innovative solutions for new and existing market needs. SmartFreight Tracker4Transport (T4T) offers a low cost, electronic freight tracking proof-of-delivery (POD) system for newer, lower capitalised carrier entrants to the market and to customers who operate their own fleet of vehicles delivering product but with no tracking and delivery system.
“We continue to focus on being the technology link between our customers’ need for efficient distribution of their product, our carrier partners’ need for quality consignment data and robust integration to our customers’ ERP and WMS software systems. Combined, this results in process and transparency efficiencies along the entire supply chain,” added Holmes.
Environmental sustainability was a key criterion in both the Technical Innovation and Product Excellence categories. A partnership with a number of blue chip organisations is pioneering a world-first technology to calculate the CO2 carbon emission footprint for freight shipped. Customers will receive an electronic report to then take the necessary internal steps to offset their carbon footprint in terms of logistics. The new technology is scheduled to launch later this year.
“We have experienced consistent growth since inception which I believe is a direct result of an incredibly hard working and passionate team which is spread across offices in New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia,” continued Holmes.
“We have a very strong focus on service and support and this plays out across our product development, R&D, infrastructure, internet security, archiving, cost modelling and interface capabilities.
“The Australian Business Award wins celebrate not only the success of our products, but acknowledge the thinking, expertise and professionalism of our own people, our customers and partners,” said Holmes.
