e-Invoicing in Digital Procurement conference

The Australian Business Software Industry Association (ABSIA) is holding its Annual Conference on ‘e-Invoicing: Efficiencies and Industry Impacts in and for the Region’ on Wednesday 31 October 2018 in Melbourne. ABSIA cordially extends its invitation to industry, government and business representatives from the supply chain sector.
 Digital procurement will require collaboration, cooperation and effort by the entire ecosystem of supply chain participants, nationally and internationally. Following the Australian and New Zealand governments announcing their joint approach to e-invoicing earlier in March this year, the subject has once again come under the spotlight, as one of the foundational steps towards end-to-end digital procurement.
Deloitte Access Economics estimates that e-invoicing could result in economy-wide benefits of up to $28 billion over ten years, based on the 1.3 billion invoices issued annually across Australia. Becoming digitally more efficient across all businesses is increasingly important, allowing the whole of Australia to directly benefit from the associated savings.
Confirmed speakers include high-level representatives from the Australian Commonwealth and state governments, New Zealand and Singapore governments, as well as prominent business representatives.  They will be discussing the current climate of e-invoicing both within Australia and the greater Asia-Pacific region, the benefits and challenges that e-invoicing can pose and how the development of the Trans-Tasman Interoperability Framework will move forward in the context of ASEAN Single Window Trade Program.
Of special interest will be the panel sessions on the government’s role in e-invoicing and first-hand experience by the businesses who have already implemented electronic invoicing. There will also be a greater look at Singapore’s and New Zealand’s experiences and their future plans, how the NPP will align with the e-Invoicing Framework, and the results and experiences from both the SA and NSW Government’s e-invoicing pilots as part of their economic programs.  In addition, there will be updates on other business software industry happenings, including progress on the Operational Framework, Single Touch Payroll (STP), Practitioner Lodgment Services, and the ABS Industry Coder.
e-Invoicing: Efficiencies and Industry Impacts in and for the Region will be held at the InterContinental Melbourne, The Rialto, on Wednesday, 31 October from 9am – 5pm followed by post-conference networking drinks.
