New industrial facility set for Melbourne’s west will house major logistic companies

A new Industrial Estate in Melbourne’s west will be the first Australian development project for an Asia-focused logistics company.

Wyndham Industrial Estate at Truganina in Melbourne’s west will house 15,100 square metres of warehouse and office space for Mapletree Logistics Trust.

The Singapore based company will acquire major Australian logistic businesses as tenants.

Vaughan Constructions will build the new facility that will include a minimum clearance height of 10 metres, floor loading capacity of 30kN/sqm, superflat floors and 2000 square metres of super canopies allowing for  24/7 operation in all weather conditions.

Mark Byrne Vaughan Director said the Mapletree project would be a significant addition to stage three of the Wyndham Industrial Estate.

”We are thrilled that Mapletree, a global property leader, has chosen Wyndham Industrial Estate as the location for their first speculative development. Their state-of-the-art buildings will sit alongside other industry leaders such as DHL, Frasers, Steeline and McPhee Distribution on the estate,’’ Mr Byrne said.

”At present we have one of Victoria’s best industrial markets in years with significant rises in land prices, rental growth, and strong tenant demand.”

Wyndham estate has also attracted users including The Country Road Group, Pacific Brands, Bidvest, and Kubota.

The Mapeltree deal follows a similar, circa $60 million, speculative build that Vaughans is currently undertaking for Mirvac and Blackstone on its $175 million, 25 hectare, Biodiversity Estate at Epping in Melbourne’s north.

The Wyndham project is due for completion in August this year.
