Global truck manufacturer to open a distribution centre in Sydney

A subsidiary company of Toyota Motor Corporation has secured a new warehouse facility for spare parts in western Sydney.

Frasers Property Industrial has secured a 10-year lease in Western Sydney’s The Horsley Park Estate with Hino Motor Sales Australia Pty Ltd (Hino), the Australian entity of Hino Motors Ltd, a Japanese manufacturer of commercial vehicles and diesel engines.

The company has leased a 9,230 sqm high-tech facility in Sydney’s industrial precinct.

Hino is relocating its spare parts distribution and training facility from Taren Point but will leave the head office in its current location.

“Centralising the parts distribution business to Horsley Park optimises Hino’s supply chain network, providing better and faster service to their customer base whilst reducing occupancy costs,” Nick Greenwell, National Director at Colliers International said.

The Horsley Park Estate is located within the established industrial areas of Horsley Park and Eastern Creek as well as Western Sydney’s Employment Area (WSEA).

WSEA was identified over a decade ago as a major area for logistics and warehousing operations as a direct result of its access to major motorways.

Ian Barter, general manager Northern Region for Frasers Property Industrial said Western Sydney continues to attract a high calibre of local and international 3PL providers.

“We are very pleased to assist Hino secure a bespoke facility in one of Sydney’s fastest growing industrial precincts,” he said.

“The area is drawing major infrastructure funding from both the private sector as well as government bodies.”

Key features of the Hino facility include a 5 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, ESFR sprinkler system, 30kw solar PV system, 34 metre loading area and a 20-metre awning.

Completion of the new facility is anticipated in March 2021.
