Australia’s pharmaceutical giant upgrades to a major $75m site in Western Sydney

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries, the parent company of Priceline Pharmacy, Soul Pattinson Chemist and Pharmacist Advice, has committed to a new major logistics site in Western Sydney to bolster their highly sought after supply chain.

The new development for Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) will be developed by Sydney Business Park, with an estimated Capital Investment Value of $75 million, this immense 32,506sqm facility on a 43,950 sqm site area is located at Hollinsworth Road, Marsden Park.

With locations in all Australian states, the API network has over 470 Priceline Pharmacy stores and over 1,000 independent Soul Pattinson Chemist, Pharmacist Advice and Club Premium pharmacy members.

“The new distribution centre will provide significantly greater operational benefits through a leading- edge automation system and smart warehouse design that maximises floorspace and promotes safety and sustainability. We are looking forward to moving into this new facility and bolstering our supply chain to continue growing our 110-year-old business,” said Jim Redfern, General Manager – Supply Chain and Consumer Brands at API.

API partnered with specialist property and supply chain firm TM Insight in procuring the new site. TM Insight secured a 15-year lease for API with Sydney Business Park and will now also project manage the new build on behalf of API.

“Our team now look forward to continuing to work on behalf of API and alongside Sydney Business Park to project manage the delivery of this purpose-built solution and integrate the automation into the base building. This will ensure API are ready to operate efficiently from day one of the lease,” Jack Moroney, Director at TM Insight said.

“We are thrilled to have secured this major pre-commitment from API, which will add significant value to the Sydney Business Park estate.”

API’s new distribution centre will now prosper from being located in a premium business park environment, with superior transport and logistics benefits given the site’s close proximity to the Westlink M7 Motorway.

“Our master planned, campus style development, with high quality landscaping and streetscape, as well as excellent amenity are some of the key features of our site, which enables us to attract blue chip businesses, such as the likes of API,” Matt Foldes, Sydney Business Park’s Sales & Leasing Director said.

“With over $1 billion of investment committed to date, it is pleasing to see Marsden Park growing into one of Sydney’s largest employment centres, and that we are on track to deliver 23,500 jobs for Western Sydney,” Owen Walsh, Sydney Business Park’s Development Director said.

Committed businesses within Sydney Business Park include IKEA, Costco, Lindt, ASICS Oceania, Axalta Coating Systems, Bucher Municipal, Bunnings, Reece, ALDI, Marsden Park Brewhouse and many more.
