Super Retail Group reaps rewards from cloud-based digital solution

Super Retail Group is safeguarding against future disruptions by digitising their supply chain. The company, parent to Rebel Sport, Super Cheap Auto, BCF and MacPac, has introduced Manhattan’s Distributed Order Management solution to improve their operations.

The cloud-based Active Omni solution has ensured the Group have been able to configure their online order fulfilments to meet a much more accurate customer promise time.

Previously, the Group’s old order fulfilment system allocated orders based on proximity to customers without considering the true cost to fulfil – resulting in more than 20 per cent of home delivery orders being shipped interstate at a higher cost despite having the items in stock within the state.

More than 15 per cent of home delivery orders were also split into multiple packages under the old system.

Super Retail Group’s General Manager of Omni-retail Brian Townshend said they were able to fast-track the roll-out of the omnichannel solution remotely while adhering to social distancing.

“The resulting solution achieved significant fulfilment savings per order, from day one of operation,” he said.

“With the new system we were able to change our fulfilment logic and immediately reduce fulfilment costs – even achieving our 12-month goal on day one, which is a remarkable result.”

Brian said the Manhattan Active Omni solution was able to accommodate major order and fulfilment routing changes within minutes.

“It now offers us a single window of visibility and availability of stock across our entire supply chain network,” he said.
