Job-ready program for future supply chain innovators

Supply chain software company Blue Yonder has partnered with Monash University to provide practical skills for aspiring retail managers.

The ‘Space Planning Education program’ will give 150 students hands on experience and additional pathways to the workforce.

A specially modified version of Blue Yonder’s retail planning solutions will be used to create a simulated environment for the marketing students.

Matt Furlong, Blue Yonder Director of Customer Success in Australia, says the program will prepare the future crop of retail innovators.

“The world has shifted in the last year with consumers becoming even more aware of the importance of supply chain management, and retailers implementing advanced technologies into their solutions as a result,” Matt says.

The program is the first partnership between Blue Yonder and an Australian university.

Karen Lurati, Monash Marketing Department Coordinator, says the initiative will help students better transition to the workforce.

“The focus on teaching practical, industry-specific skills not only boost students’ morale, but also adds value to Monash Business School’s Retail Management courses by providing real-life experience with innovative software applications and solutions.”
