Port Botany Terminal COVID-19 cases

Port Botany

Two DP World Australia employees have tested positive for COVID-19 after working at the company’s Port Botany Terminal.

DP World is working with the NSW Department of Health to identify close and casual contacts of the affected employees. Employees that are identified as being in contact will be required to be tested and potentially isolate before they return to work.

The company hopes the positive cases will have a limited impact on its operations at the Port Botany Terminal.

In a message to its customers, DP World Australia said “as always, our immediate priority is to minimise service disruption and will continue to take all necessary steps in order to ensure we continue to maintain our service levels for our customers, whilst protecting our people and the community.”

“We are working closely with the Department of Health with a Covid plan in place to minimise the transmission and any disruptions to the supply chain.”

Road Freight NSW (RFNSW), Ports Australia and NSW Ports met with government yesterday to present a united front on the post lockdown approach and opening up and how to manage positive cases in an ongoing and sustainable manner given the importance of Port Botany to NSW and the larger Australian economy.

RFNSW and its operators will work with DP World to ensure that its operations return to normal as soon as possible.
