International property consultancy Savills has recruited Jack Harkness as its new Director of Regional Industrial and Logistics Services.

Jack will be based in Singapore, where he will be operating across key markets throughout Asia.  The appointment comes shortly after Savills’ recent acquisition of a strategic interest in LCA, a Southeast Asian supply chain consulting specialist.

Jack says he is delighted to have joined Savills at such an exciting time for the industrial and logistics sector.

“With demand for cold storage, warehousing and data centres at record levels across the region, I am confident that we will continue to offer a best-in-class service to our clients in Asia as the sector rapidly expands,” he says.

Jack joins Savills from JLL in Indonesia, where he served as APAC director of logistics and industrial advising online retailers, data centre operators, MNCs and 3PLs on the regional expansion of their real estate portfolios. At Savills, he will be advising tenants, landlords, and investors on the e-commerce, consumer-packaged goods (CPG) and data centre sectors, and cross-border capital and leasing transactions.

Martin Fidden, Regional Managing Director, Professional Services, Asia, says Jack’s strong track record across Southeast Asia and deep understanding of local market dynamics will undoubtedly be of great value to our clients.

“Together with his extensive knowledge of BTS warehousing and data centres, Jack is well-positioned to assist our digital and e-commerce clients as they continue to execute regional expansion strategies,” Martin says.

Chris Marriott, CEO, South East Asia adds: “This hire is an important piece in the development of our Industrial and Logistics agencies across South East Asia, where we have been expanding our in-country delivery capability in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.”

Prior to JLL, Jack commenced his career with Savills in London in 2012. He is a member of RICS, and a graduate of both Leeds University and Cass Business School in London.
