How omni-channel retailers are meeting ecommerce sales

The latest data from Auspost a 23.4 per cent year on year increase in online shopping in Australia from August 2020 to August 2021.

It’s the same story in New Zealand, with a 25 per cent year on year growth in ecommerce sales. New Zealanders are purchasing more goods and services online every year, driven by convenience, internet penetration and perceived price advantages.

Despite this, few retailers and fulfilment operations providers consider themselves “advanced” at omni-channel execution and 90% of global omni-channel retailers report losing money on ecommerce orders.

Consumer behaviour has changed and supply chains need to respond by being more efficient and importantly, retailers need to balance customer expectations with protecting their margins.
