Australia Post looking for seasonal workers

Seasonal workers 2023

Australia Post is looking to recruit around 3000 seasonal casuals with specific skills, experience and licences as it ramps up operations in the lead up to Christmas.

It notes at the top of its wish list are applicants with a valid forklift or truck licence. Seasonal casual roles are also available for freight handlers and parcel processors across the delivery network.

The national postal delivery company is preparing ahead of what it expects will be a busy cyber-sales period and in the lead up to Christmas.

Australia Post’s Executive General Manager People and Culture Susan Davies says seasonal casuals play a critical role in helping the company ensure deliveries reach customers on time for the holiday period.

“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post,” she adds.

“We’re looking for seasonal casuals to work alongside our existing team members and would love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck licence, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.

“Working at Australia Post offers team members the opportunity to be part of a great, supportive team and help to spready the Merry this Christmas.

“Working in a seasonal role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who initially joined us as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”

Roles are available across all states and territories although New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland have the highest demand for seasonal casuals.
