From May 07 till May 08, Körber’s Elevate APAC brought together industry leaders, technology experts, and businesses eager to gain insights into the latest supply chain innovations and technology.

Over the course of two days in Sydney, Australia more than 200 attendees were treated to a variety of thought-provoking presentations which helped to explore strategic directions around technology implementation, accelerate decision-making processes and consider how to drive future success.

Kicking off the conference, Körber’s Executive Vice President Software APAC Bill Ryan talked about some of the challenges and opportunities for organisations today and the background behind this year’s conference theme Chart Your Course.

“Over the past year, the need for enhanced efficiencies and resilience has become greater than ever,” says Bill.

“Today’s supply chain landscape is rife with challenges – port disruptions, global conflicts, land restrictions, and economic constraints limiting capital availability to name a few.

“With increased disruption across our global supply chains, we need to continue to utilise tech to help reduce risk in business. As a result, we are continuing to invest in the modernisation of our warehouse, transport and order management solutions to help customers overcome these shared challenges.

“The Chart Your Course theme of Elevate 2024 is about providing customers with the right data and information so they can envision where they are now, and where they want to be in the future.”

The theme of resilience was a common thread throughout the conference, with keynotes from Jessica Watson, the youngest person to sail solo and unassisted around the world, and Paul Bloxham, Chief Economist, Australia, New Zealand and Global Commodities at HSBC.

Paul’s extensive knowledge of the global economy helped to put Australia’s economic situation in perspective, while Jessica’s inspiring story of sailing solo around the world at just 16 served as a powerful metaphor for navigating business adversity.

Körber’s executive team shared insights on the strategy and direction of the organisation, including investment in Transport Management System, bringing Order Management System to the Australian market, introducing a WMS chatbot this year and the ongoing modernisation of WMS solutions.

Sean Elliott, co-CEO at Körber offered a deep dive into the trends impacting industry this year, including workforce efficiency, data visibility, supply chain risk and resilience, and a global rebalancing of supply chains.

“Elevate continues to be a must-attend annual event for industry leaders across supply chain,” explains Anthony Beavis, Managing Director APAC Software at Körber.

“This year, businesses and experts came together to collaborate and assess the technologies that can elevate business operations and solve modern supply chain problems.

“A big thank you to all our partners, sponsors and customers who made the event possible, including platinum sponsor HAI Robotics, Cloud Partner Oracle, Gold sponsors NEOS and Honeywell, Silver sponsors SOTI, iWMS, Balloon One and Locus, and Coffee Cart Zebra Technologies.”

Körber client Hastings Deering, a leading equipment supplier and one of the top five Cat dealers in the world, presented a case study on its Warehouse Management System journey. Mark Danckwerts, Manager Program Development at Hastings Deering spoke about why the organisation selected Körber’s WMS solution, as well as shared some of the key learnings from its implementation journey so far.

From Körber’s expansive partner network, Hai Robotics discussed how it is looking to expand on its robotic success stories in the European and US markets for Australian warehouses. Honeywell explored the evolution of voice solutions, and Oracle presented insights into Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure and how the technology helps to connect Körber’s customers.
