Emerging technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotic automation and blockchain are presenting exciting new opportunities for the logistics and supply chain industry.
Through courses such as the Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Automation, RMIT is upskilling and reskilling participants in a short timeframe through industry-based projects, simulations and hands-on placements.
Students gain technical knowledge of the logistics lifecycle in addition to soft skills in project management and negotiation.
“The graduate certificate addresses skills gaps in Australia and is an ideal option for professionals looking to upskill in supply chain automation, says Professor Paul Childerhouse, Head of Department, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
“Global supply chains are changing rapidly as a result of developments in areas like artificial intelligence, e-commerce and blockchain technology,” says Paul.
“The graduate certificate has been co-designed with educators and industry partners to ensure the content is industry relevant and reflective of new principles and practices, ensuring our graduates can readily apply their new skills in the workforce.”
The graduate certificate is one of a range of courses that RMIT offers to help professionals currently in the supply chain industry, or those looking for a career pivot, to build their knowledge of digital technologies so they can create efficient supply chain solutions.
Current student Adrian Monico said he never thought he would find himself at university again at 54 years old.
“I would say I’m passionate about learning new things,” says Adrian.
Studying the Masters of Blockchain Enabled Business has allowed him to explore various units including supply chain automation, which he has found rewarding.
