DB Schenker has signed a battery storage and recycling agreement with Livium through its wholly owned subsidiary, Envirostream. The agreement covers the storage and recycling of lithium-ion batteries.
The agreement will allow DB Schenker to provide new Li-ion batteries to Envirostream, who will safely store them until a return is requested. Additionally, the agreement also allows DB Schenker to provide used Li-ion batteries to Envirostream, who will store and process the batteries.
The agreement provides exclusivity on the processing of used batteries.
“This agreement with Livium marks a significant milestone for DB Schenker in Australia and New Zealand,” says Craig Davison, DB Schenker CEO, Australia and New Zealand cluster.
“Our extensive logistics experience combined with Livium’s recycling technology makes us poised to deliver comprehensive and sustainable solutions for battery storage and recycling across many verticals. We are excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring and look forward to a successful and impactful partnership.”
Allowing the provision of services in Australia, the agreement commenced in April 2025 and will only be available in Melbourne to begin with. No additional infrastructure is required to provide these services.
“We are very pleased to take this first step in expanding our service offer with DB Schenker, an expert in logistics,” Simon Linge, CEO and Managing Director of Livium, added.
“This Agreement with DB Schenker demonstrates Livium’s ability to deliver blue chip services to major international organisations underpinned by our safety and risk management standards.”
