Nominations have officially opened for the 2025 NSW Export Awards, which recognise the outstanding contribution exporters make to the state’s economy and celebrate the best of NSW-made products, ingenuity, and innovation on the global stage.
Delivered by the Export Council of Australia in partnership with the NSW Government, the awards will honour businesses across 14 national categories and four NSW-specific categories.
Highlighting the impact of the awards, Twisted Healthy Treats – a frozen desserts manufacturer based in Ingleburn – won last year in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages national category. Twisted Healthy Treats exports its frozen yoghurt and ice cream to multiple countries, including the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
Amidst a challenging global environment, the theme for the 2025 awards is Broaden Your Trade Horizons, underscoring the importance of market diversification to support NSW and Australia’s economic growth and trade resilience.
The NSW Government is currently developing a Trade and Investment Strategy, aiming to grow exports, attract investment and support businesses expanding into new international markets.
Nominations close on Friday 13 June 2025, with finalists to be announced in September ahead of an awards ceremony in October. Winners of the 14 national categories will progress to become finalists for the Australian Export Awards in November.
Investment NSW Deputy Secretary Rebecca McPhee said, “Exporters are a critical driver of economic growth in NSW, with $142.5 billion worth of goods and services sold abroad in 2023-24, making up 17 per cent of our Gross State Product.”
“While it’s a challenging global environment, NSW’s exporters are resilient. We continue to work hard to make sure NSW business has access to a broad range of export markets and opportunities, and as a State we have diversified trading relationships that harness the benefits of free trade agreements.”
Twisted Healthy Treats CEO Cass Spies said, “It was a huge honour to be recognised at the NSW Export Awards last year – it’s an incredible platform to highlight all the businesses that are demonstrating the value of exporting across numerous industries.”
Chair of the Export Council of Australia Dianne Tipping added, “Exporting is not just about selling products overseas; it’s about building relationships, fostering innovation, and contributing to the broader economy.”
