Op-ed by Kate Budd, Sales Manager WS AUNZ, Vanderlande: Vanderlande empowers fashion brands with agile, automated logistics for fast, and accurate delivery.

Finding the perfect outfit is easy. Getting it delivered fast and flawlessly? That’s the real challenge.

In the world of fashion, pace is everything. Trends shift overnight, social media can create instant demand, and consumer expectations continue to rise – not just around what they buy, but how and when they receive it. The industry is constantly moving, and for fashion brands, the race isn’t just on the catwalk, it’s in the supply chain.

Fashion is one of the most dynamic, fast-evolving sectors globally. Balancing the need to stay on trend with maintaining sustainable practices, growing a brand, and standing out in a competitive landscape is no small feat. But behind the glamour and gloss of fashion retail lies a critical engine room – the warehouse. And this is where many brands either fall behind or surge ahead.

At Vanderlande, we work with some of the world’s biggest names in fashion logistics, providing automation solutions that ensure products move from warehouse to wardrobe quickly, accurately, and seamlessly. We understand that the delivery experience is as much a part of the brand as the product itself. A late, incomplete, or error-prone delivery can undo the hard work of marketing, design, and customer service in an instant.

Our automation technologies are designed specifically for high-volume, high-velocity environments, exactly the kind that fashion demands. Whether it’s handling fast-moving apparel, efficiently storing seasonal lines, or enabling same-day order fulfilment for online shoppers, our systems are engineered to perform at peak even when volumes spike or SKUs shift overnight.

One of the biggest challenges in fashion logistics is unpredictability. Campaigns go viral, seasons overlap, and returns volumes are often higher than in other sectors. Our solutions are designed to flex with this reality. Using scalable systems like goods-to-person technology, smart shuttle-based storage, and advanced sortation, we help brands stay agile while keeping cost and error rates low.

But automation alone isn’t enough. What sets our approach apart is the combination of intelligent software, operational insight, and real-world delivery experience. We work closely with our customers to ensure that systems are not just fast, but optimised for footprint, sustainability, and long-term adaptability. In a sector where product life cycles are short, and customer loyalty is often tied to experience, that level of precision is essential.

Fashion will continue to evolve. The pace will get faster, expectations higher, and the margin for error smaller. Brands that succeed will be the ones who invest not just in great design, but in great delivery.

Because ultimately, the perfect outfit only matters if it arrives on time – and in perfect condition.
