Bunnings is set to open a new large-format warehouse in Mirrabooka, Western Australia, expanding its metropolitan Perth footprint.
The new store, located at 501 Alexander Drive, will officially open on Friday 12 December, replacing the nearby Malaga warehouse, which will close the day prior. Spanning more than 16,000 square metres of retail space, the Mirrabooka site has been designed to support higher customer volumes and more efficient store operations.
The warehouse includes dedicated trade drive-through lanes, an expanded nursery, an in-store café and upgraded traffic and delivery access to support smoother freight movements and replenishment. The location sits approximately 11 kilometres north of the Perth CBD, providing improved access for both retail and commercial customers in the city’s northern suburbs.
Sustainability has been embedded into the design and construction of the site. Features include a 140,000-litre inground water storage system supplying the nursery and amenities, high-efficiency HVAC systems, LED lighting throughout and a 360kW rooftop solar installation aimed at reducing reliance on grid energy.
Bunnings Mirrabooka Complex Manager Shayne Brown says the team is looking forward to opening the new store and supporting the local community.
“We’re really proud to be opening Bunnings Mirrabooka. The warehouse is designed to give our commercial and retail customers a better shopping experience, whether they’re picking up something for a quick project item or working on something more ambitious,” Brown says.
In the lead-up to opening, Bunnings team members have been active in the surrounding community, including garden upgrades, the construction of a shed at The Learning Sanctuary Community Centre in Girrawheen and the installation of a new kitchen at Hudson Primary School.
A Grand Opening Weekend will be held on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January, featuring family-friendly activities and giveaways. The Mirrabooka opening brings Bunnings’ Western Australian store network to 51 locations.
