Accurate inventory tracking used to be the headline feature of any WMS. Now it’s just a given. What actually moves the bottom line is a system that drives daily throughput – and that’s exactly the case Paperless Warehousing is making as it lands its biggest leap yet: Paperless WMS V5.

As supply chain leaders head to Melbourne for CeMAT Australia, hunting for ways to claw back margin under ongoing operational and economic pressure, Paperless is shifting its flagship platform from a legacy on-premises system to a true cloud-native, browser-based SaaS solution. That’s a bigger undertaking than it sounds: V5 is the enterprise-grade, highly configurable platform built for complex, high-volume operations, and re-architecting that depth for the cloud takes real engineering, not a quick re-skin. It’s a major milestone for a company that’s spent close to four decades taking the paper out of the warehouse – and it’s already producing the kind of hard operational data ops leaders actually want to see.

Proven floor results

Case in point: One Melbourne Based 3PL. Since moving onto V5, the team is picking an extra 700 orders a day – a real throughput uplift, not a theoretical one.

For operations teams, that throughput gain starts with access. Because V5 runs entirely in the browser, there’s no desktop install to manage and no terminal to be tied to. Staff can log in from a tablet or mobile device on the floor, onboarding is faster, and IT no longer has to babysit local installs across every site.

“Full browser access with MFA gives our customers the flexibility to log in away from the office desk and actually be out on the floor, on a tablet or mobile device. It removes the barrier between the system and the people using it every day,” says Mark Clinch, Business Development Manager, Paperless.

Automated logic, frictionless flow

That accessibility is backed by a platform that enforces its own rules rather than leaving them to the floor. Directed picking, automated replenishment, and strict FEFO/FIFO stock rotation run automatically, with real-time inventory accuracy synced across ERP, transport and automation systems. For a manager juggling peak-season volume or a steady stream of new starters, it means less time policing process and more time keeping product moving.

That same flexibility extends to how the business grows. V5 is built for customers scaling from 2 users and 10 orders per day, to 150 users and 1000s of orders per day. For anyone evaluating WMS platforms, V5 is also a clear signal of a vendor investing in its customers’ future, rather than maintaining a legacy codebase.

It’s a shift Paperless has matched internally too, moving from a customer-led development model to a planned product roadmap – still shaped by user feedback, but built to get ahead of operational needs rather than just react to them.

Effortless. Seamless. Paperless. With V5, that promise is built into the architecture itself.

The Paperless team will be at CeMAT Australia on 23-25 June, showcasing Paperless WMS V5, alongside Seamless WMS, its rapid-deploy solution for the mid-market. Head to Stand K41 to find out more and discover how Paperless can enhance your operational efficiency.
