CartonCloud has launched Carrier Connections, bringing access to more than 150 carriers into its warehouse and transport management software platform.

The release is designed to remove the need for many logistics operators to maintain a separate shipping subscription alongside their warehouse management system.

Through an expanded partnership with Shippit, CartonCloud customers in Australia and New Zealand can access carrier options through the CartonCloud platform at no additional subscription cost. Shippit’s pre-negotiated rates are available from launch, with CartonCloud saying customers have recorded savings of around 20 per cent across metro deliveries.

EasyPost is also included to support North American and global carrier coverage, with setup handled automatically in the background. CartonCloud says the only additional cost is a standard integration connection fee, similar to connecting platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce.

The release centres on a redesigned pack screen, which displays live carrier rates across connected providers while an order is being packed. Rates are filtered automatically by parcel dimensions and weight, removing ineligible options before they are presented to the operator.

Carrier Connections also includes a rule engine that can automate carrier selection based on the cheapest rate, fastest service, customer, destination or service type. A configurable fallback option is also available.

Operators can use their own carrier accounts alongside walleted rates, while label printing can be triggered automatically at packing or dispatch. Two-way tracking syncs back into CartonCloud and through to Shopify and WooCommerce.

Carrier coverage includes more than 100 Australian and New Zealand carriers through Shippit, including Australia Post, StarTrack, CouriersPlease, Aramex and NZ Post. CartonCloud has also built direct connections to Australia Post and USPS.

Rob Hango-Zada, Co-Founder and Joint-CEO of Shippit, says the partnership gives 3PLs access to a broader carrier network through CartonCloud.

“In an increasingly unforgiving market, the days of relying on a single carrier are over,” says Rob. “Flexibility and agility are the defining attributes of the businesses that will dominate tomorrow’s landscape.

“We are excited to bring our extensive carrier network access, intelligence and customer experience capabilities to 3PLs and their customers via the CartonCloud Carrier Connections partnership.”

CartonCloud CEO Shaun Hagen says the release brings carrier access and rate comparison directly into the WMS workflow.

“3PLs have been paying for a separate shipping platform on top of their WMS just to access carriers and compare rates,” says Shaun. “Carrier Connections brings that capability into CartonCloud directly — live rate comparison at the pack bench, a rules engine to automate the carrier decision, labels printing where the work actually happens.”
