Two spots remain in TCA Tech hub

Positioned at the heart of MEGATRANS2018, Transport Certification Australia’s Telematics Hub has proved a popular component for next year’s show with just two exhibition spaces left.
The multi-modal transport and logistics event will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10 to 12 May 2018. Spread across a 30,000m2 footprint, the show will distinguish between four distinct functional areas, including; Logistics and Materials Handling, Warehouse & Storage, Infrastructure; Road Transport and Air, Sea & Rail.
The TCA’s Telematics Hub is a core section of the event’s Technology Showcase, which will straddle the entire exhibition floor to reinforce the importance of technological trends such as Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Intelligent Infrastructure and Intelligent Multimodal Transport Solutions.
With a focus on increasing productivity through intelligent multimodal transport solutions, the TCA Telematics Hub will showcase world-leading technology from telematics specialists such as Teletrac Navman and Tramanco, and demonstrate how Australia leads the way.

MEGATRANS2018 to host Global Shippers Forum in Melbourne

The world’s most senior shippers and logistics providers will be meeting in Melbourne on 8 to 11 May 2018 to discuss trade facilitation, international logistics challenges and other macro-trends affecting global trade. The event will be held as part of MEGATRANS2018, Australia’s leading logistics and supply chain event.
The Global Shippers Forum (GSF), based in London, is the world’s leading trade association for shippers engaged in international trade, including all modes of transport. Its role centres on international logistics policy and it represents shippers’ interests in the major UN agencies including the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the World Customs Organisation (WCO).
It will be the first time the event has been held in Australasia.
“We are excited about the prospect of holding the 2018 meeting in Melbourne,” commented Chris Welsh MBE, Secretary-General, GSF. “This will afford the opportunity of connecting with members in Australasia on issues of concern within the Asia Pacific region and internationally.”
The event will be curated by Australia’s representative to the Global Shippers Forum, the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA), an association representing Australia’s top containerised exporters by volume.

Melbourne secured the event with the support of the Victorian Government’s Melbourne Convention Bureau and private sector sponsor, the Port of Melbourne. It will attract hundreds of local and international delegates, including representatives from inter-governmental organisations, demonstrating Melbourne’s credentials as a destination of choice for global business events.

FourPL and Q Data USA sign ANZ market solutions agreement

Local supply chain specialist, FourPL, and SAP implementation specialist, Q Data USA have signed a strategic partnering agreement to provide SAP Event Management and supply chain visibility solutions for ANZ.

The purpose of the partnership is to allow both parties to share capability, customer experiences and investments in research, systems and IP.

The collaboration is said to benefit local ANZ SAP customers as it would mean improve visibility and responsiveness in their supply chain to increase throughput and reduce risk around disruption.

“The partnership provides FourPL customers the option to extend their capability around SAP Event Management and in particular, to be able to offer their customers improved supply chain visibility and risk reduction options,” said Anthony Hawkins, FourPL chief executive officer.
